Hyderabad-My home City
Well Friends !!!!!!!
Iam from the hospitable city-Hyderabad
well there is too many things to be written about hyderabad ,but let me pen down few things in this blog!!!!!!!!!
Hyderabad is most famous for its charming minarets - Charminar. The city is often identified with the majestic Charminar which stands at the center of the old city in all its splendor amidst the colorful shops of Ladbazaar with its glittering traditional bangles.
Often called "The Arc de triomphe of the East", Charminar was built in 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah and is a beautiful structure with four intricately carved minarets. Enormous in its size, this imposing monument exudes a charm that is more than 400 years old!
The Char Minar and its bustling bazaars is where the spirit of old Hyderabad lives on. It's here, that you will find age-old nahari stalls that serve the steaming sheep's-trotter broth and kulchas that form the traditional Hyderabad breakfast even today. Try to come is just before sunrise on a winter morning, when there's still a slight shiver in the air and the echoes of the azaan -- the call to prayer - wraps the city.
The Charminar is a square edifice with four grand arches each facing a cardinal point that opened once upon a time into four royal streets. At each corner stands an exquisitely shaped minaret, more than 55 meters high with a double balcony. Each minaret is crowned by a bulbous dome with dainty petal like designs at the base.
A beautiful mosque is located at the western end of the open roof and the remaining part of the roof served as a court during the Qutb Shahi times.
About 149 winding steps guide the visitor to the upper floor. Once atop, the solitude and serenity of the beautiful interior is refreshing. The space in the upper floor between the minarets was meant for Friday prayers. There are forty-five prayer spaces.
The city of Hyderabad is known for various tourist places. Among the much lauded ones is the Salarjung Museum. It is one of the single largest one- man collections of the world. It is well known throughout India for its prized collections belonging to different civilizations dating back to the 1st century. The art objects were collected by the late Nawab Mir Yusuf Ali Khan Salarjung III, the Prime Minister to Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan, Nizam VII, the ruler of Hyderabad.
The city of Hyderabad is famous for its breathtaking monuments. The majestic and imposing monument which lies on the Western outskirts of Hyderabad city - Golconda Fort, unravels with it the 400 years of the rich cultural heritage of this city
The city of Hyderabad is replete with imposing monuments which give a clue to the rich historical background of the land. It also boasts of the magnificent palaces like the Falaknuma palace, the Chowmohalla palace and the Purani Haveli.
Among these, the Falaknuma palace is a remarkable edifice which stands atop a 200 feet high hillock. It is located 5 kms from Charminar. Built by Nawab Vikar-Ul-Ulmara, the Prime Minister of Hyderabad, it is a stupendous palace and connotes the "heavenly abode".
Happening Places:
This area is considered Hyderabad's silicon valley and has in fact been named Cyberabad
Media mughal Ramoji Rao is making a full-fledged Hollywood film Quick Sand not in Los Angeles but in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. He has recreated the Arizona army base, the barracks, the vehicles, and US military uniforms for the army personnel, and above all, the virtual reality of American landscape. All this in his world-famous Film City. History knows Quli Qutb Shah as the founder of Hyderabad City and posterity will know Ramoji Rao as the architect of the Film City known to everyone who is familiar with the world of films and entertainment
Weekend is the time to let your hair down and what better things to do than have a great splash. This weeks hot spot is literally cool. We are talking about Ocean Park, the water based theme park in the outskirts of the city.
